About me

Dr Victoria Perry (BSc Hons. PgCert. PhD. DClinPsy. CPsychol.)

Chartered Clinical Psychologist and EMDR Therapist

I am Dr Victoria Perry from Mindsight Psychology Services Ltd, and I have been supporting people with emotional difficulties for over a decade. Throughout my clinical career, I have been inspired and humbled by the courage and resilience of my clients in the face of great adversity. I understand how difficult it can be to seek help, and I aim to meet my clients’ bravery in doing so with compassion, warmth and encouragement as well as evidence-based therapeutic approaches. I take a collaborative approach with my clients, as we work together to reach a shared understanding of your difficulties and how to meet your therapeutic goals.

I have particular interest and expertise in trauma therapy and working with neurodivergent clients who have experienced trauma, as well as having undergone specialist training to assess and diagnose autism and ADHD.

What is a Clinical Psychologist?

As a Clinical Psychologist, I have doctoral-level training in working psychologically with people across the lifespan and with a wide range of difficulties. In order to qualify, Clinical Psychologists must successfully complete numerous competency based assessments, both clinical and academic over the three year doctorate. We work as clinicians within the NHS in various services over the three year training period, supervised and assessed by Senior Clinical Psychologists. Additionally, all doctorate courses in Clinical Psychology require core training in at least two therapeutic approaches, but also offer opportunities for learning in several other approaches too. This means that, as a Clinical Psychologist, I can work integratively, drawing on several therapeutic approaches in order to provide individualised therapy for each client depending on their needs and therapeutic goals.

I am registered with and regulated by the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC). I must complete regular training and professional development activities to maintain my registration.
